Cooling down the Rokumentti
We journey to Edo-period Japan, where forbidden love can mean crucifixion. Falsely accused of adultery, Osan and Mohei flee for their lives, only to discover the love they stand accused of.
Kenji Mizoguchi's A Story from Chikamatsu (1954) is a passionate tale of love, freedom and a society where women's fates are decided by men.
