Every beat, every feeling
A bassline that rattles your bones. A guitar riff that sets your pulse racing. A song that breaks your heart. How do you bring the power of music to someone who cannot hear it? Sign language interpreter and performer Amber Galloway does it with her hands, face and entire body, turning music into movement, rhythm and emotion – poetry in motion.

The Way We Move follows Galloway as she trains aspiring music interpreters for the Austin City Limits festival. Beyond the lyrics, they must capture every emotional nuance of a song. In this powerful documentary, intimate conversations in sign language alternate with electrifying musical rehearsals, revealing a world where music can be experienced without hearing it.

A concert is more than what happens on stage. It's the bass vibrating through your body, the flashing lights and the collective euphoria. Music's greatest power lies not in what we hear, but in what we feel. But where does that feeling come from, and why is it so hard to put into words? The Way We Move searches for answers at the very heart of what it means to experience music.
