Four decades of unforgettable sounds
From sauna walls to heavy metal riffs, Studio Sound carved out its place in Finnish music history. Built in Kuopio in 1979 and taken over by Mikko Tegelman five years later, the studio saw schlager give way to roaring guitars, even on Christmas records.

When news of the building's impending demolition broke in 2022, four decades of memories came flooding back. Studio Sound is a heartfelt tribute to a place where recording technology evolved, musicians found their feet and chance encounters sparked countless songs. More than a studio, it was a musical home for generations.
