The cold calculus of genocide
NAZA. An Israeli military term for the number of civilian deaths deemed acceptable in an airstrike. Twenty NAZA means twenty lives considered expendable to eliminate a single target.

On Tel Aviv rooftops after dark, 24 anonymous Israeli military and intelligence personnel reveal how the bombing of Gaza is planned and carried out. They describe AI-powered targeting systems, constant surveillance of Palestinians and operations in which civilian deaths are calculated in advance.

Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, co-directors of the Oscar-winning No Other Land, expose the machinery through the testimony of those operating it. Produced by The Guardian, NAZA reportedly received a record 25-minute standing ovation at Venice. In Israel, culture minister Miki Zohar has called for the filmmakers' citizenship to be revoked over alleged treason.

NAZA asks not only how many have died, but how their deaths became a calculation.
