Hex

Unleash your inner witch and get ready to fight the norms

A new force is rising from the heart of the black metal scene. Three women. Three years. Witches, black metal and a determination to make one hell of a noise. In 2022, Norwegian Nikoline, Victoria and Johanna made a pact: they would awaken their inner witches and see where it would take them over the next three years. Witch Club Satan was born: a feminist black metal band with little musical experience, but enough ambition to pour fuel on the fire.

Hex follows the band’s journey from their first chaotic rehearsals to international festival stages. Along the way come courage, rage, nudity, friendship and plenty of pushback – not least because Witch Club Satan has no intention of making itself easy to understand.

The documentary captures what happens when three women stop asking for permission and start making music on their own terms. In this coven, music is a weapon, the stage is a ritual space, and noise itself is a statement. Hex is part wild black metal fever dream, part portrait of the unbreakable bond between three women, and part middle finger to norms that are long overdue for the bonfire.
