Goodiepal is a musician, an artist, an inventor and a thinker, but above all the kind of character the world needs more of. This monocle-wearing gentleman has no permanent address, drives around art exhibitions with a self-built, electricity-generating bicycle and carries with him a tumor extracted from his head. His stream-of-consciousness attitude challenges one to think, but does so in a warm, inspiring way.
Goodiepal admits to being a freak, but a proud one. With his delightful performances, he stands against stupidity and hypocrisy, lending humanity to a world taken over by A.I. and computers. The National Gallery of Denmark has a whole room dedicated to Goodiepal’s art, and he has performed at the Berlin Biennale as well as at Flow Festival in Helsinki.
The Goodiepal Equation is a charming and inspiring documentary of a great character who makes the world seem a little less boring. The director is Sami Sänpäkkilä, known as a herald of Finnish experimental music, as well as for being the cinematographer of last year's cult hit Samurai Rauni Reposaarelainen.
