In addition to being an acclaimed and award-winning film, Storm Surfers is above all a pioneering surf film. The surfing scenes have been shot from the ground, in the water and with cameras attached to the surfboards – and if that’s not enough, it’s also in 3D! The viewer gets to dive in to the waves almost literally and after the film one needs to check if the clothes are wet.

The film is about two friends, Tom and Ross, who chase the biggest and the most dangerous waves that the Australian coasts can offer. They are not ordinary surfers: Tom Carrol is a double world champion and Ross Clarke is a legendary big wave surfer. With the help of a storm chasing weatherman, Tom and Ross look for the biggest waves that anyone has ever surfed on, dozens of kilometres away from the coast. Storm Surfers does not only consist of gorgeous imagery – the film’s story resembles a thriller that will take your breath away. Not for the faint-hearted!
