Everyday Rebellion

The Riahi Brothers:
Everyday Rebellion (Austria, Switzerland, 2013)
118 min. • English

Everyday Rebellion is an impressive documentary about the strength of civil disobedience and non-violent resistance. It is also a call for action. The Iranian Riahi brothers started filming the activists in their home country, but suddenly found themselves amongst the Occupy-protests in New York City, the Ukrainian FEMEN-movement and the uprising in Syria. The result is a salute to people who aim to change the world without firearms.

The whispering narrator of the film takes the audience around the world in search of political activity that aims to make the world more humane. We meet activists who have come up with imaginative ways to protest and change the current realities. They are fighting against giants such as dictatorships and global corporations, but still have faith in the possibility of change. Everyday Rebellion gives the viewer hope, and makes us want to make the world a better place.

€First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.€ €“ Gandhi
