Bob Rock is mostly known for producing Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Bonjovi, etc. to name a few famous bands. However, not many know that in the early 70s he was the guitarist of New Wave Vancouver band Payola$. Not only that but he also produced four classic Vancouver punk albums. One of which was Death Was Too Kind by the Subhumans. This impeccable punk album features the classic Fuck You, which has become a popular song to cover.

This documentary is a story told by the members of the original Vancouver punk scene. It's an oral history of early West Coast punk and even includes commentary by Jello Biafra, Henry Rollins, and Duff McKagan. They all believe that Vancouver had one of the most important punk scenes in the world. New York and England may be more well known but especially in hardcore history Vancouver was the place to be. The album Hardcore '81 by D.O.A. was after all the first time the term "hardcore" was used. This film is a must see for any fan of punk rock.
