Juri Shevtshuk, the most prominent figure in rock music in Russia, has created music with his band DDT since the beginning of the 1980s. As the years have passed, the musicians behind Shevtshuk have changed, but now, after 30 years in business, DDT is at the peak of its artistic career.
The concert recording Death Knows Nothing presents DDT as they are today, giving a top performance in Helsinki on April 27, 2013. During their nearly three hours long concert the band performed music from four decades and provided a show where delicately poetic moments follow wild instrumental sections, and easygoing tunes quickly morph into an infernal rock€n€roll rage.
Outside Russia Juri Shevtshuk is mostly known for his pointed lyrics and political statements, but this time the stage of Kulttuuritalo is reserved for Shevtshuk€s musical brilliance and the outstanding professionalism of his band. The revitalized DDT is dynamic and spontaneous, but also disciplined. The band is an irresistible combination of the joy of music and artistic ambitiousness.
